Today, we’ve taken shipment of a few more models from Guild, producer of (in our opinion) some of the best acoustic and electric guitars on the market, and we’re delighted to share our stock with you.
Electric Boogaloo
We’ve decided to go all in on picking up models from Guild’s fantastic Starfire I range. Starting off with the DC (Double Cut) model, which takes its cues from the classic 335 style.
These DC models feature a mahogany centre-block, with either all-mahogany (in the Cherry finish) or all-maple construction (on the Vintage Walnut, Emerald Green, or Pelham Blue finishes). The dual humbuckers provide a classic sound, with coil-tapping available to widen out the sonic variety. Two finishes (Emerald Green and Pelham Blue) include Guild’s classy Vibrato Tailpiece, for players looking for that extra something.
The SC (Single Cut) Starfires retain all the enhanced electronics of the DC, but instead come with a Florentine-Style single cutaway, and a hollow body, opting to instead have a bridge block to assist with sustain to the all-maple body. This gives the SC a suitably light and jazzy feel to its timbre. Again, two finishes (Seafoam Green and Snowcrest White) include Guild’s Vibrato Tailpiece, while the other pair (Vintage Walnut and Antique Burst) come with a standard stopbar.
Finally, the Jet 90 sits between the two, with the mahogany centre-block of the DC being combined with the stylistic cues of the SC. Add on to this Guild’s 6-in-a-line headstock, three of Guild’s Franz P90 pickups, a rotary switch giving a vast array of tonal choices, a vibrato tailpiece, AND a classy satin finish, and you’ll have something ready to tackle anything from hard rock to smooth jazz. What a combo!

Next, we take a look at some of Guild’s excellent acoustic guitars.
From the all-mahogany 120 series are the M-120 and OM-120. The Concert body of the M-120 makes it a handy and comfortable guitar for any player, and the smaller chamber gives a pluckier classic sound. The slightly larger Orchestra-bodied OM-120 ups the ante with premium binding and purfling, and has a more balanced overall sound. Both feature bone nuts and saddles, mother-of-pearl rosettes, and come with Guild’s premium gigbag.
Hailing from the 200 series, the F-250E is a vintage-styled jumbo paying homage to some of Guild’s most famed acoustics. The solid sitka spruce top and flamed maple back and sides give this Jumbo the quintessential flat-top tone and sustain, and its Antique Burst finish and Fishman GT-1 Preamp serve to sweeten the deal. Accompanying it is the Jumbo Junior Reserve Maple, a smaller-bodied, Natural finished sibling featuring the same construction and preamp as the F-250E, concentrated on a Baby Jumbo body size offering a handy yet distinctive feel and sound.
One final treat: The A-20 Marley. Based on Bob Marley’s home songwriting workhorse, this Dreadnought features a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides for a well-balanced but full-bodied tone. Key features blend together to create a unique and excellent package, such as the “Marley” inlay on the 12th fret, the recycled nylon gigbag, bone nut and saddle and exclusive case candy including Guild/Marley picks, a booklet and poster. This package is an excellent option for new palyers, old players, and Marley fans alike.
